Giving to our School

Soundview is thriving today because of the commitment and generosity of parents, alumni, trustees, grandparents, friends and foundations who have demonstrated their belief in Soundview’s mission over the years. The support of these individuals and institutions has been instrumental in enabling Soundview to secure and move into a site befitting its mission, which is as strong as when it was founded.

Since tuition at Soundview – as at virtually every independent school - does not fully cover the cost of educating each student, donations to the Annual Fund and fundraising events are crucial to enabling us to bridge this “tuition gap” and meet our operating expenses. These donations make it possible for Soundview to offer the unique education that sets the School apart. Contributions help the School to:

  • Keep classes to an average of seven students
  • Attract and retain outstanding teachers
  • Build the growing athletic and extra-curricular programs that enrich students’ lives
  • Upgrade and stay current with the technology that is so important in educating students in the 21st century.

Parent and alumni volunteer efforts, too, play a vital role at Soundview, and are key to supporting many school activities and fundraising initiatives. We are grateful for the generosity of our many donors and volunteers!

The Development Office works with the administration, faculty, parents and alumni to coordinate fundraising efforts such as the Annual Fund, the Spring Gala and Auction (held every other year), and, on occasion capital campaigns. Development staff oversees communications and marketing activities, including a newsletter published twice a year, and is responsible for alumni relations and activities.
